Is Lloyds bank reliable?
Since I'm moving to England within 2 months I'm looking for a reliable bank…I'm italian and I don't really know anything about costs , pro and cons of English banks..
I'll be working for Boots and it problably has an agreement with Lloyds since they give me the opportunity to open a bank account with this bank…
I was just wondering if it has many branches around UK and if t's reliable and not so expensive in terms of annual bank account costs…
thank you very much
Answer:Ask for your salary to be paid into a building society, like let us say, the Nationwide, as they are MUTUAL (No shareholders) and owned by the members, they run as a Bank, but all charges are far less than mainstream Banks because there are no shareholders having a share of the profit, therefore charges are a great deal less, all funds are backed by government guarantees up to £50,000.00 (Fifty thousand) as in any uk Bank.
By the way, it is your money, it is your choice and YOU inform Boots as to which institution they have to deposit your salary into.
P.S seeing as how you are from Italy I would assume you would be travelling home frequently, I believe Nationwide does NOT charge for debit card use abroad.
But please do check their website or ask in a branch.
Answer:Lloyds Bank is one of the oldest Banks in Britain. Of course it is reliable.
Most banks here charge the same. If you do not go over your limit there is no charge.
