I understand that you can now get credit cards in the UK for 13-18 year olds?

How does this work and how do I find out more?

Answer:To get any kind of authorised credit, (as in with the proper protection of the Government's Regulators) you have to be over 18. There are some credit card companies that will issue secondary credit cards to under 18's. So if your parent or guardian felt it appropriate, they could give you a card on their account. They would be responsible for whatever you spent, and if you misused the card, it would be essentially their card with your name on.

The same applies to most prepaid credit cards these days.

There are now prepaid debit cards that over 13 year olds can hold in their own name with parents or guardians permission. They also have a measure of protection built in for under 18's as they won't work on gambling websites etc.

They do allow you to load your own money onto the cards and shop online line though, as well as have a secure place to put your cash where no one else can get their hands on it!!

The best ones are listed here to compare

Answer:It's not a credit card, its like a top-up debit card. You go to the post office and put £10 on it, you can then go on the internet and spend that £10

Answer:no credit card company is going to give a "credit" card to a teenager, even if they ave a full time job, which is unlikely, because they should be in school at that age
