Are More Twenty Somethings Staying At Home With Their Parents, Because They Want To Save Up For A Place To Buy?

Is this a common trend among twenty something year olds, my cousin wanted to rent out a place after finishing university, her mother didn't approve of her plan. My cousin stayed with her mother for four years, and has now brought a flat.

I am going back to university next year, my mum desperately wants me to save up for a place to buy. I don't want to do it, because I don't like living with her.

Answer:I know you feel like living with mum is a big hassle now, but there is no better time to take advantage of free rent than right now and no better way to save money than to save on what costs you the most each month. Adding the housing/lending crash, you definitely will need that large down payment if you ever see yourself owning a place of your own and owning is the the best way of accumulating wealth when you get on in years. No one says that you have to remain there until you are ready to buy, but every month you don't have to pay rent, gets you that much closer. Just make sure you sock away what you would have paid on rent, utilities, food ,etc and you will see how quickly the money adds up.

Answer:both my older sisters are. its a really good idea. trust me

Answer:I was 25 when I moved out and "bought" my own house, I was going to rent, but realised it's wasting money. The money I would be paying for rent was saving for a deposit etc.
